Introduction
Rapid reformation in Universities and T.E.I. (Technological Educational Institutions) should be carefully considered by people. This reformation sabotages the future of education, the progress of science, the scientific potential of our country, and complicates the prospect of a socio-economic Higher, released from monopolistic advantages, in favor of people.
The Department of Education, continuing its contribution to point out the great social problem of Education after its proposition for the “12-year Unified Compulsory School”, presents its proposition for the complex problem of “Higher Education”.
The text consists of two parts. In the first part, we can see the primary changes on “Higher Education” in connection with the decisions taken by the Education Ministers of E.U. and certain other European countries in Bologna. These decisions should be considered, not only because they are current, but because through them we can obtain a clear view of the reformation in “Higher Education” since it constitutes the attempt of the master forces of the E.U. to organize, control and accelerate the structural changes in education by using government laws and communal plans.
In the second part, we can see our platform for Education in the service of popular needs and social challenges of our time. Our platform hopes to raise ideological, methodological, scientific and social issues for confronting current Highers. Besides, Unified Higher Education is a political proposition.
It is our aim to discuss this proposition with the youth, students and undergraduates, with people of science and education, with workers of Universities and T.E.I. and people too. We discuss how and for what purpose the young are educated in Universities, who gains profits from research projects, what kind of knowledge and ideology is produced. Nowadays, we must intensely raise these points if we are going to build a proper education system, so that sciences and their social task are to be developed. Through the common educational model for Higher Education, promoted by the E.U., forceful imperialistic states will win while our state will be a tributary and our universities degrading. So the Higher of an educational system that corresponds to our country’s needs is essential for the future of Greek people. It concerns everyone and, especially, the working class and other repressed social classes that will benefit from opposing the E.U. policy that undermines an economic, social and intellectual progress of our people, independent from monopolistic commitments. Thus, this text represents a view that focuses on the basic issues of Higher Education, to focus on the social and political conditions of its application and to be useful as a methodological instrument for the confrontation of special problems of Universities and T.E.I. Therefore, the text does not aim to proceed to particularization and paradigmatic application on all the subjects that occupy Higher Education today. The above process undoubtedly has value, but the prime objective is to gain a methodological basis so as to cope with them.
The contribution of this text will be judged into action, in the field of succession that the knowledge and experience of those to which it is addressed, will give to it, in the field of its Higher for the process of special problems of institutions and scientific items.
