2. Representative of the intentions of violently imposing those measures are the words delivered as a threat is Gary Haug’s speech in the assembly:
- Society is not willing to accept the continuation of irrelevance between the high unemployment levels of graduates and the insufficiency of qualifications in fields relevant to the market
- The expansion of Universities, characteristic feature of the last decades, has come to its end. Universities will have to compete with each other for students, since state financing in many countries is analogous to the number of student registrations
- There is significant development concerning new agents of education (of branches of American Universities); many of them come from abroad. This event increases the available options for the students. We wonder, what makes a student opt for a foreign agent which might be more expensive, instead of the national, traditional educational system of studies-which is free?
- The responsibility of the Universities concerning the administration of state money will significantly increase in the future. It seems impossible for state resources to continue being spent onto institutions and students sustaining their studies beyond the normal and defined period!
