To the 18th Congress
of the Communist Party of Greece

Dear Comrades,
On behalf of the Hungarian Communist Workers’ Party we send to the 18th Congress of the KKE our most fraternal greetings. We wish you and to all members of the KKE great successes.
The Hungarian Communists pay great importance to the 18th Congress of the KKE. Now the international workers’ movement is facing an important and responsible moment. Capitalism is in deep crisis. It is a crisis of the capitalist system itself. Capitalism cannot solve its deep contradictions. This situation opens new perspectives for the communist and workers’ parties. The revolutionary alternative of changing capitalism is getting more and more actual. We are convinced that the communist parties should demonstrate the revolutionary option to all people. We are waiting a strong signal from the 18th Congress of Communist Party of Greece to open a new phase in our fight against capitalism.
We, Hungarian communists agree that we should defend the historical achievements of world socialism. We should say to the people that the whole mankind has lost a lot by liquidating socialist systems in Eastern Europe. We need a new socialism based on Marxism-Leninism, the historical experience of our countries with respect to the national ways of socialist construction. We, Hungarian communists feel our responsibility and are ready to cooperate with the Greek communists in this field. The Hungarian Communist and Workers’ Party deeply respects the internationalist traditions of KKE. The Greek communists have done a lot for maintaining the spirit of proletarian internationalism. We support the efforts of KKE to strengthen the unity of communist parties and to create a new and more effective form of their international cooperation.
The Hungarian Communist Workers’ Party continues its fight against capitalism. We are struggling under very difficult circumstances but we never give up our Marxist-Leninist conviction, our communist ideas. We will defend the historical values of socialist construction in Hungary. We will fight against capitalism.

On behalf of the Hungarian Communist Workers’ Party we confirm our readiness to continue the traditional friendship and cooperation with the KKE. We are and we remain your close allies in our strategic fight for socialism.
