The Fund-raising campaign of the KKE continues in a dynamic fashion

In this period in the pages of “Rizospastis”, the daily paper-organ of the CC of the KKE, one can read, amongst other things, the following:

“97 year-old militant of the National Resistance Ilias Papadogiannis from Loganiko Lakonia, responding to the call of the party, contributes via the Prefectural Committee of Lakonia 200 euros for the financial strengthening of the honoured KKE, in the memory of all those who died in the struggle for freedom and social justice.”

“We , conscript soldiers from the camps of Northern Evros, (: on the borders of Greece-Turkey-Bulgaria) collected and contribute 503 euros for the fund-raising campaign of the KKE, as a very small contribution to the struggles of the working class and our people against the black front of the Government-EU-Plutocracy, to strengthen the vanguard activity of our party, which has for 93 years been ceaselessly struggling for socialism-communism.”

These are characteristic publications regarding the major effort which the KKE is making to gather financial support from the people. The Central Committee of the KKE has announced a two-month fund-raising campaign for the months December 2011- January 2012, addressing first of all the working class as well as the other popular strata and calls on them, from their meagre means, to contribute to surpass the target of the fund-raising campaign. It calls on them, by strengthening the KKE financially, to provide it with the ability and the means to strengthen its political and ideological intervention, its activity. To give it strength to fight against the anti-people plans of the plutocracy which are being promoted by the “new government” of the black front PASOK, ND, LAOS, the European Union, the IMF and the other imperialist organizations.

As is stressed in the statement of the CC of the KKE which was distributed to the people:

“The euro of the unemployed, the low paid, the pensioner, has particular political importance, because it contributes to the financial strengthening of the KKE.

A strong financial situation for the KKE means above all the even wider propagation of its political line, the more effective support for “Rizospastis”, “902” and the publishing house “Synchroni Epochi”.

It means the more substantial support for the development of the international relations of the KKE and the solidarity to other communist parties and movements.

The KKE constitutes a special, historic and fixed target of the bourgeois state and the bourgeois political forces. The more stable and combative the KKE is, the more open, dirty, slanderous and reinforced with repressive measures the offensive will be.

The positions of the KKE regarding socialism, the political line of the anti-imperialist front for the people’s power and the people’s economy, which demonstrate the historical limits of capitalism annoy them.

For this reason, they intensify their attacks against the KKE and chiefly against its finances, with the aim of reducing the moral standing of the KKE, to identify it with the rot, corruption and buying off consciousnesses of all those who support the system.

They threaten and blackmail with a legislative amendment which will pose state funding as the exclusive source of the funding for the parties. (…)

The KKE will not become a party dependent on the state or controlled by the big businessmen. It wants to be financially supported by its members and friends, by the working class, and by the people.

The KKE refuses, in every instance, to give the names of its members, friends and supporters to the bourgeois state, or even voters of other parties who want to support it financially.

The plutocracy, its parties and various mechanisms which they use against the party and the movement will not succeed in what they aim for.

They will not tame the KKE.

Because it has strong bonds with the working class, the people, the youth, which have been forged in its great historical course and contribution and which are daily strengthened in today’s class struggles.

This relationship of trust is a firm base, on which the political and ideological awakening and liberation of the popular consciousness from the ideological influence of the parties of the plutocracy can be developed, so that the necessary popular counterattack can begin immediately, a basic condition of which is the strengthening of the KKE.”

The gathering of money from the people is at the same time a major political opening of the party, which provides the opportunity to the organized party forces to present the political positions of the party and strengthen its bonds with the workers. The members of the KKE and KNE, thousands of friends of the party are waging this political struggle, giving their all.
