Joint appeal of the 21 MPs and the 2 MEPs of the Communist Party of Greece to strengthen the struggle for the recognition of the Palestinian state!

On the occasion of the 29^th November, the international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, the KKE expresses solidarity and support to the heroic struggle of the Palestinian People this struggle, which for decades has been subject to the ideological, political and military pressure from the imperialists USA, EU and the NATO, in coordination with the imperialist state of Israel.

We are firmly in solidarity with the struggle of the people of Palestine and at the same time, we express our opposition to the agreements of the Greek governments that promote military cooperation with Israel.

At the time when an imperialist war in the region becomes more imminent, when there is an ongoing imperialist intervention in Syria, the threats of a war against Iran are reinforced, it is necessary to strengthen the anti-imperialist struggle, the struggle for the rights of the Palestinian people and for the solution of the Palestinian issue. A just solution is crucial for the developments in the region.

Based on the above, we state that:

We support the struggle for the creation of an independent, viable and sovereign Palestinian state, within the 1967 borders and with East Jerusalem as its capital, alongside Israel. We demand the liberation of the Palestinian people from the barbaric occupation forces, of the Israeli army.

We demand the recognition of the Palestinian state, as a UN member-state.

We also demand:

The end of the settlements and the withdrawal of all the settlers which have been deployed beyond the 1967 borders

The demolition of the unacceptable wall which divides Jerusalem and the West Bank

The right of return of all the Palestinian refugees to their homes, based on the relevant UN decisions

The lifting of every blockade against the Palestinians, in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip

The immediate release of all Palestinian and other political prisoners who are being detained in Israeli prisons

Withdrawal of the Israeli army from the occupied territories of 1967, including the Golan Heights and the Sebaa region in South Lebanon.

We call on the Greek people to raise their voices and impose on the Greek government the cancellation of the military cooperation of our country with Israel and to immediately support the actions for recognition of the Palestinian state.

We call on the Greek people and the working class to express their solidarity with the just struggle of the Palestinian people for the recognition of the Palestinian state as a UN member state.
