Message to the CC of the CP of Cuba

Dear Comrades,

On the occasion of the 52^nd anniversary of the victory of the Cuban Revolution we send you warm comradely greetings on behalf of all the Greek communists. We confirm our unwavering solidarity with your struggle against imperialist invasions and interventions. We promise that we will continue with even more intensity our activity and mobilizations against the criminal blockade of the USA and the unacceptable EU common position, as well as for the liberation of the 5 Cuban patriots – Antonio Guerrero, René González, Ramón Labañino, Gerardo Hernández and Fernando González-who will spend yet another New Year’s celebration far away from their families. We mobilize against the slander campaigns which are unleashed by the monopolies’ media, the pressure and the perfidious undermining of the social-democrat and opportunist forces which are hostile to socialism.

2011 is also the 50 year anniversary of the defeat of the armed intervention by the USA and its mercenaries in the Bay of Pigs, a firm slap in the face for imperialism. The working class and the people of Cuba have proved that they have the power to defend their revolution against plans for direct intervention to overthrow socialist power, plans which imperialism has never shelved.

2011 is also the 50^th anniversary of the declaration of the socialist character of the revolution. Socialism has proved its superiority in the case of Cuba, despite the harsh blockade. It has given strength to the people of Cuba to face imperialist aggression and also to achieve unprecedented gains. Together with the internationalist activity and contribution of the revolution, it has inspired popular movements all over the world. It has created a solid base for the development of a mass movement of solidarity with Socialist Cuba.

The workers are following with great interest the discussion at the 6^th Congress of the CP of Cuba; the peoples place great hopes in the Cuban revolution.

We are aware that the enemies of the revolution hope that the pressure, the blockade and the problems which exist will weaken the socialist relations of production and distribution.

The CP of Cuba armed with its revolutionary readiness and the deep relationship which it has with the working class can defend socialism and the principles of socialist construction.

The KKE will continue to give its best in this struggle to develop and strengthen the solidarity movement with your revolution and people.
