PAME: Protests demanding “low-price electricity for the people”
All Workers’
Militant Front
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, 11th October, the forces of PAME (All Workers’ Militant Front) and the class-oriented trade unions raised a huge banner over the headquarters of the Public Power Corporation (DEI) in Athens. The slogan on the banner expressed the need of the people for immediate relief measures: “30% reduction in the rates of electricity, water supply and telecommunication service”.
The forces of PAME called on the people of Athens to resist the buyout of DEI as well as the new outrageous increases in electricity rates, the constant tax exceptions and concessions to the big business groups. “Low-price electricity for the people and not for capital”.
PAME organized similar protests in tens of cities throughout the country
The forces of “People’s Rally”, the list supported by the KKE in the local elections on 7th November participated in the protests calling the people not to show any tolerance to this policy that leads them into impoverishment, to condemn the government as well as the other parties that support the EU and strengthen the lists of “People’s Rally”.
