Statement denouncing the dynamiting of the anti-fascist monument in Georgia
Meeting of Balkan Communist Parties
On December 19, the day when the Meeting of Balkan Communist Parties took place, it was announced that the pro-NATO regime of Georgia proceeded to the dynamiting (!) of the antifascist monument in the city of Kutaisi, causing human victims.
This provocative action is added to others decided by the EU, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, aiming at distorting history and erasing the contribution of the USSR to the defeat of fascism. It shows the hatred of the bourgeoisie against the anti-fascist victory.
The Communist and Workers’ Parties of the Balkans express their sorrow for the innocent victims of this unacceptable action. We condemn this action, which above all insults the more than 300 thousands Georgians who gave their lives in the battle against fascism and the memory of all the peoples who fought against fascism.
On this occasion, the peoples of the Balkans, who gave their blood for the liberation from fascism, must understand that the anticommunist campaign and the distortion of history have no limits, and turn their backs on them!
