Solidarity message regarding the destructive floods in Turkey

KKE expresses its deep sorrow for the victims of the destructive floods in Turkey and its solidarity with the workers and the people of Turkey. Once again, the working class and the poor people are those who suffer the biggest problems. TKP has been from the very first moment at the side of the Turkish people and is now at the forefront of the struggle for measures for the relief of the flood victims, for flood control protection and infrastructure.
Apart from the responsibilities of the Turkish government, the tragic consequences of the floods in Istanbul underline one more indisputable fact: the fact that the capitalist system serves inherently the profit making of the capital and thus, it cannot provide people any infrastructure or protection against natural disasters. The recent wildfires in Greece and the destructive floods in Turkey prove that the capitalist system cannot solve the basic problems of the people. The protection from natural disasters cannot be ensured by the anarchy of the capitalist development but only by the socialist organisation of the society.
