The 9th congress of KNE opens in Athens

The 9th Congress of KNE opened its works yesterday May 12 at the congress hall of the headquarters of the CC of KKE, with the presentation of the report of the outgoing CC its Secretary, Themis Gionis. The congress will set the tasks of KNE for the next four years, in order to develop its communist characteristics as the youth of KKE, to increase its role in the youth movement and struggles and to further reinforce its contribution to the international anti-imperialist youth movement. |
| The congress is attended by a large WFDY delegation and 50 communist and anti-imperialist youth organizations from all over the world, and the president of WFDY Miguel Madeira, addressed the congress of KNE on behalf of the federation. Meanwhile, on May 10, a mass event for the 60 years since the foundation of WFDY took place in the philosophy faculty of the University of Athens, with the participation of hundreds of young people. |

The congress of KNE will conclude its works on Sunday May 14 with the election of the new Central Council of the organization.
