Statement regarding the attacks by the Israeli Army against Lebanon
The position of “equal distancing” showed by the government and by the PASOK party is inadmissible in face of this situation. By taking such positions they are equally responsible like the governments and political forces which in fact protect the Israeli government in its new aggressive campaign.
It became evident that US and EU are taking full use of the aggressive stand of the government of Israel, targeting people and countries of the Middle East resisting or not full in line to their dangerous projects.
The Communist Party of Greece appeals to the Greek people to use any occasion in order to express rejection for the positions of the Greek government and PASOK and to vehemently condemn the new attacks of the Israeli army this time against Lebanon. At the same time underlines the need to stay on alert, to further develop the solidarity movement with the Palestinian and Lebanese people and to amplify the protests and actions against the acute danger of spreading the aggression to other parts of the Middle East.
