Address of D. Koutsoumpas, member of the PB of the CC to the rally of the Patriotic Front against EU

Dear Comrades

With particular emotion, I convey you on behalf of the CC of KKE the internationalist militant greetings of the Greek communists and the class labor movement of our country.

It is a joy to greet this militant and mass rally, with its class slogans and aims of the Patriotic Front, under the banners of TKP and its consequent struggle against the accession of your country to EU; That reactionary union of the capital against the workers and the people of all countries.

We are here to share with you some of the experiences of the working class and the popular strata our country from the participation in the EU. European Union was created neither by the working people, nor for the working people. EU was constructed by the reactionary capital in order to exploit harder the workers, to assault in a coordinated way social and labor rights gained through fierce class struggles.

The EU is a union of the capital that aims against the communist and workers' movement; it is directed against the struggles of the working people, the ones that produce the wealth of the society and demand to enjoy the fruits of their work, want to live in just society, without exploitation of man by man.

As it is not possible for a humanized capitalism or a capitalism with human face to exist, the same is true for EU. EU cannot become a union in favor of the people and the workers'. The policies that this imperialist center implements through the national government give proof to this. This concept is also refuted by the huge mobilizations of the working people all around EU, by the referenda in France and in Holland where the working classes have been the first to say NO to this even more reactionary treaty that sought to chain the people even more forcefully to the manacles of capitalist oppression and exploitation.!

EU cannot be reformed. What is possible is to weaken it through popular struggles in each member state; to change the correlation of forces in favor of the political forces aiming against monopolies and their power, against NATO, against imperialism and imperialist wars, interventions and barbarity; to strengthen the forces aiming at socialism. This is the way to counter EU, to weaken and finally disrupt it, to detach countries from its domination and finally lead to its dissolution.

We are here today because conduct together the same struggle: against the US imperialism, against EU imperialist center, against NATO and “new order”, for peace, people's prosperity, for abolition of the exploitation of man by man, for  socialism.

The class interest of the working class and the popular strata of Greece is to intensify their struggle, to shift today's correlation of forces against EU, NATO and US,  to built the Anti-imperialist Antimonopoly Democratic Front of struggle for the peoples' power and socialism.

The class interest of the working class and popular strata of Turkey lies in the consequent struggle in defense of their rights; against accession of your country to EU; in strengthening the fight of the Patriotic Front and of TKP against monopolies, NATO and US imperialism.

Therefore, our struggle is common! We are conducting these battles together, shoulder to shoulder. Together with the peoples of the Balkan and Arab countries. In solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people for its independence and the establishment of its own sovereign state with east Jerusalem as its capital, in solidarity with the struggle of the Iraqi people against the imperialist occupation!

In solidarity with all peoples of Europe –wester, central and eastern- with the peoples of Asia and Africa, the peoples of Latin America, all peoples around the world.
