Statement: Stop foreign interference in the internal affairs of Belarus
The participants of the International Meeting of the Communist and Workers’ Parties note with concern that NATO-member states increase pressure on the Republic of Belarus in order to carry out “regime change” and impose a puppet regime on this country.
For this purpose the USA and their allies actively use methods that brought about such grave consequences in Yugoslavia and Iraq. These include the economic blackmail and international sanctions, political and propaganda pressure and ultimately military intervention. Similar methods of rude pressure are being used now against Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea and some other countries that are firmly defending their independence and national sovereignty.
We condemn attempts of NATO-member states to impose on the people of Belarus the model of economic and social development that caused such turmoil in other countries of the former USSR. We demand that foreign interference into the internal affairs of Belarus be stopped and the people of this country be given a chance to determine independently the road to its progress.
