Workers' Party of Belgium
Brussels,
29 March 2013
To the Central
Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE)
To Comrade
Aleka Papariga, Secretary General
Dear Comrades,
We
congratulate the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) on the occasion of its 19th
Congress. We convey to the leadership and the entire membership of the KKE our
best wishes for a successful Congress, that will guide the Party to further
advances in its fight for the defense and the promotion of the rights and aspirations
of the Greek working class and people, in the course of their struggle for
socialism.
Over the
years, we have come to know and appreciate the KKE as a steadfast and
principled communist party, leading the Greek masses in the various and often
complex battles they had to wage, for democracy, social progress, peace and socialism.
For communists and workers in Belgium and elsewhere, it is reassuring to see
that a party propagating a rupture with capitalism and with all imperialist
forces and alliances, can advance and win over large masses of the people, in
various fields of struggle.
This is all
the more important in a period of a deep and systemic world capitalist crisis.
In such conditions, not only are social contradictions and class struggle
intensifying, but also reformist efforts to compromise and lead the working
class astray from the path of genuine societal change.
Apart from the
many immediate tasks in the ideological, political and organizational domains
that will be discussed and decided by the 19th Congress of your party, it is of
the utmost importance that the struggle for socialism and the vision of a
socialist society are indeed well spelled-out, in order to give the working
class a clear, positive and fundamental perspective.
Finally, we
want to particularly mention the enormous efforts the KKE has undertaken for
the regrouping and revolutionarizing of the international communist movement,
while also maintaining a spirit and practice of concrete proletarian
internationalism in bilateral and multilateral relations between communist and
workers' parties.
With all these
elements to its credit, we are confident that the 19th Congress will usher in a
period of new successes and advances for the Communist Party of Greece.
With comradely
greetings,
Peter Mertens
Chairman
Workers' Party
of Belgium (PTB)
