Statement of the Press Office: On the dilemma which the coalition government and the plutocracy are posing to the people: New sacrifices or bankruptcy and return to the drachma
The parties of
the coalition government and the plutocracy are attempting to convert
their impasses into dilemmas to blackmail the people. While the return
of the people to the 1950s constitutes a strategic choice for them so
that the workers and self-employed pay not only for the crisis but also
for the future profitability of the monopolies, they have the brazenness
to demand that the people accept its damnation in order to foil the
already scheduled bankruptcy which is inevitable. They are demanding
that the people commit suicide and be trapped in the dilemma “euro
or drachma?”, when they know that the euro is being shaken by the
crisis and by the contradictions which infest the predatory alliance
of the EU, and that the complete bankruptcy of Greece is not dependent
on the people. They are even trying to conceal in this way that the
way out for the people is disengagement from the EU, with people’s
power which will unilaterally cancel the debt.
There is no time
to lose. What is required now is the emancipation of the workers and
self-employed from the parties of the plutocracy and the EU, joint struggle
with the KKE, so that the great popular alliance can be urgently formed
with the aim of socialising the monopolies and disengaging from the
imperialist organizations. This is the path for the people’s prosperity.
