After concluding the visit the delegation issued the following statement for the press:

«Today's meeting was a very important one between GUE Group and the PPP and the CPI. All Members of the Parliament that participated in this meeting agreed that it is very important to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and to achieve peace in the area by establishing a Palestinian state that will include all the occupied territories in West Bank, including East Jerusalem and Gaza. It is very important all the UN Resolutions to be implemented, including the 194 UN Resolution (related to refugee issues). At the same time we ask the European Union to continue the support to the Palestinian Authority, not just by means of financial and economical support but also by a political position distinguished to the US Policy, in order to help the Palestinian issue and the Middle East issues and to increase the relationships between the parties of GUE Group in the European Parliament with PPP and PCI».
