General Secretary of the CC of KKE Aleka Papariga visits Cuba
The KKE delegation attended the May Day celebrations in Havana and participated in the impressive rally of the Cuban people.
Aleka Papariga was received by the President of the Council of State and Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba Raúl Castro and reiterated the unreserved solidarity with the Cuban people and its struggle to defend its conquests and step up the building of socialism, against the designs of the imperialists. She noted that “the heroic effort of the Cuban people that leaded by the Communist Party of Cuba steadfastly fights for its rights and socialism, in extremely difficult conditions, constitutes a shining example for the communists and the progressive people of Greece, for all peoples in general.”
The delegation of KKE had meetings with Cuba's Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque, the head of the International Relations department and member of the Secretariat Fernando Ramirez, the President of the Cuban National Assembly Ricardo Alarcon, the First Secretary of the Communist Youth Union Julio Martínez Ramírez. The delegation of KKE will be received also by Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, member of the PB and First Vice-President of the Council of State.
Aleka Papariga will also participate in a ceremony to be held at the monument of José Marti in Havana, will visit the University of Informatics, other educational institutions and research centres, the city of Pinal Del Rio and other places.
The KKE delegation is bound to stay in Cuba until May 4th
