KKE regarding the national strike on 13/02/2008
KKE conveys its warm class militant greetings to all workers who participated in the strike on February 13. The mass participation to the strike, with the addition of the massive and militant rallies of PAME, held in 63 cities all over the country, sends an optimistic message, and highlights the possibility and the necessity to further develope and intensify the political content of the people’s and workers’ struggle, against the antipopular policies promoted by the big capital.
KKE calls upon all the workers to respond to the reforms in social security system of the government of Nea Dimokratia in every working place with class confrontation and counteroffensive. The labour popular movement can repel the ND and PASOK laws against the social security system, can demand actual increase in wages and pensions, in line with contemporary social rights only if it follows the line of disobedience and in confrontation with the "one-way" capitalist policies of EU.
The struggle can have positive results if in every working place mass militant actions are combined with the change of the correlation of forces in the trade-unions and at political level, at the expense of the parties which serve the EU "one-way street".
