General Secretary of the CC Visits Lebanon

At July 26, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Aleka Papariga will head a party delegation visit Lebanon, including KKE Political Bureau member Dimitris Koutsoumbas and Rizospastis newspaper journalist Eleni Mavrouli and comrade Ualint Elias, Journalist will express the party's "strong condemnation of Israel's crimes", and its "support for the just struggle of the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples".

The delegation will have a meeting with Lebanese Communist Party and General Secretary Haland Handata to discuss the current situation in Lebanon in order to take concrete actions for the relief of Lebanese people

Also, a delegation of KKE’s and KNE’s cadres activated to the mass movement and the local governments left for Palestine on Thursday, July 20, in order to express the solidarity of all the Greek Communists with the Palestinian people and the populations of the region.

Bakalis Vangelis, chairman of Trade union of the Construction Workers in Athens, cadre of All Workers Militant Front (PAME) and candidate at the Prefecture Council of the Perfect of Athens- Piraeus with the NAS

Katsiotis Christos, chairman of Trade Union of Hotel workers in Athens, cadre of PAME, candidate Mayor at the “Ag. Dimitrios” city

Zargjanopoylo Sotiris, Cadre of PAME, General Secretary of the Labour Center of the Thessalonica city

Skaloumpaka Christina, member of the Executive Committee of Federation of Women of Greece (OGE)

Panagis Giorgos, member of the CC of Communist Youth of Greece (KNE)

These initiatives are of particular importance today that the government of Israel, supported by the imperialists of the USA and the European Union, escalates dangerously its aggressiveness by attacking the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon and considering other countries of region as their target.

The KKE calls the Greek people to:

• Demand the immediate end of the Israeli invasion in the Gaza strip, the immediate withdrawal of the Israeli forces from the Palestinian territories, the immediate stop of attacks against Lebanon.
• Denounce the policy of ND and PASOK and the policy of "equal distancing".

The Palestinians have the right to live in their own independent, Free State, with the East Jerusalem as its capital.
